The moon froze over early after cooling during the system's formation. As the sun grew into a red giant, the ice melted covering the moon in a global ocean. Despite having generally habitable temperatures, the moon lacks any land areas as it's entire surface is a deep ocean.
The system's entire population reside in orbital cities around the moon and gas giant.
