Deneb Kaitos is a planetary system orbiting β Ceti, a K1III ☼ star in the Cetus constellation of the Inner/Sol Region.

Deneb Kaitos Deneb Kaitos (Beta Ceti) is an orange giant located 96 light years from Earth in the Inner/Sol Region. The star is also known as Diphda and is the brightest star in the Cetus Constellation. The star is orbited by multiple planets.

The primary world is a gas giant orbited by a water covered moon, located in the middle of the habitable zone. On the moon, floating islands were constructed that could house a small population. Though the majority of system's people currently live in space orbiting the gas giant.

Terraforming projects on the moon have been proposed, this would include using material from asteroids to create continents.

Deneb Kaitos B

The leading theory on Deneb Kaitos B is the planet is the leftover core of a failed gas giant. While the atmosphere was forming the planet migrated into the inner system, the intense sun caused it to lose gas quicker than they could form. When the sun grew into a giant this further added to the lose of atmosphere. Today all that's left is a thin hydrogen atmosphere around the rocky planet.

Deneb Kaitos C

Deneb Kaitos C is a hydrogen/helium gas giant with over 2 times Jupiter's mass. Traces on neon exist in the upper atmosphere which give the planet a reddish hue in light of the giant sun. Early in the system's history C1 was an ice covered moon. As the sun grew into an orange giant, the ice melted and a giant global ocean was created. The melting also released carbon dioxide that was trapped in the ice into the atmosphere, further heating the moon with greenhouse gasses. The moon orbits inside Planet C's magnetosph
