Hurricane force winds can start out of nowhere and last for weeks, even months. Despite being habitable to humans, the planet was often overlooked as a location for permanent colonization due the winds. Eventually a society was built on the planet, during its height the winds were used as tool for producing energy.
As Franklin's population grew, a need for a more suitable home started to develop. Franklin's leaders started a terraforming project on a planet just 3.5 light years away, they named the new world Franklin Home . When the ferraforming of Franklin Home was completed, large sections of the population were relocated there.
