Neolotus Neolotus is a planetary system orbiting a yellow G-class star. The system lies in the Phoenix Constellation of the Achernar Region. The primary planet of the Neolotus system needed some terraforming to become fully habitable. Genetically modified bacteria was spread across the soil over the planet's surface.
The bacteria helped convert the carbon dioxide atmosphere into oxygen, increasing the oxygen levels across the entire surface. Though opposition to the terraforming occurred, as the increase in oxygen caused mass extinction across the young ecosystem.
The planet was able to be colonized by a significant population, though it's path of natural evolution was greatly modified. Regardless, thanks to the terraforming, the planet was able to grow a population into the billions. The planet has become a manufacturing center, along with a growing economic power.
